The rising numbers of immigrants and refugees in European countries have forced primary school teachers to deal with the difficulties of teaching students of different ethnicities and languages in the classroom.
Teachers in these institutions need innovative teaching materials to enhance mutual understanding and communication among children from different backgrounds.
The EU-funded MultiLib project (ref: 2016-1-SE01-KA201-022101) aims to use its methods and materials to help meet the needs of these teachers.
The MultiLib project has created an electronic library of children's stories in 12 different languages.
The library contains illustrated e-books of stories spanning from traditional to ones that were specially written for the project, in official languages from each partner country (Czech, French, English, Swedish, Turkish and Greek) and in minority languages spoken in these countries (Russian, Haitian, Tibetan, Kurdish, Arabic and Armenian).
